02

Free Introductory Call

Eibhlin will arrange to phone you to discuss your child and how and if she can help. Eibhlin will help you decide what type of assessment, if any is needed.

03

Pre-Assessment Form

Once you book the initial assessment appointment, you will receive an online information form to fill out. This provides Eibhlin with the background information to plan an assessment that is personalised to your child. It helps to keep the focus of the clinic appointment on your child.

04

In Clinic Assessment

Depending on what type of assessment your child needs, the in-clinic assessment may take place over one or multiple appointments. Assessment can involve:

  • Gathering information from families, school staff and other professionals.
  • Observations of your child
  • Play- based informal assessments. These involve Eibhlin interacting with your child using toys to form a descriptive profile of their abilities. It is very helpful for children who find paying attention hard.
  • Standardised assessments – These provide scores which allow you to understand how your child’s score compares to other children of their age. They usually require a child to be able to sit and pay attention for longer periods.

05

Feedback & Agreeing a Plan

At the end of the assessment, Eibhlin will discuss the assessment results and provide a diagnosis, if appropriate. You will receive a one page summary of the assessment findings. Eibhlin may recommend referrals to other professionals. Eibhlin will advise if therapy is needed or not, and agree next steps with you.
