Riverside SLT – Cancellation & Punctuality Policy

This policy outlines our expectations regarding appointment cancellations and punctuality to ensure efficient scheduling and the effective delivery of speech and language therapy services.

1. Cancellation of Appointments

  • Notice Requirement:
  • Cancellation Fee:
    • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the agreed fee.
    • This fee is necessary to compensate for the therapist’s time and lost appointment slot.
  • Exceptional Circumstances:
    • We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. In cases of genuine emergencies or illness, please contact us as soon as possible. We will review these situations on a case-by-case basis.
  • Practice Cancellations:
    • In the event that the Practice needs to cancel an appointment due to therapist illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer alternative appointment times.

2. Punctuality

  • Client Punctuality:
    • Clients are expected to arrive on time for their scheduled appointments.
    • Late arrivals may result in a shortened session, as the therapist is unable to extend the scheduled appointment time. In this case, the full fee will still be required.
    • If a client is more than 15 minutes late, the session may be cancelled, and the full session fee may still apply.
  • Therapist Punctuality:
    • Therapists will make every effort to begin sessions on time.
    • If a therapist is delayed, they will make every effort to notify the client and will extend the session time if possible, or provide compensation in other ways.

4. No-Shows

  • Failure to attend a scheduled appointment without providing any prior notice will result in the full session fee being charged.

5. Payment of Cancellation/No-Show Fees

  • Cancellation and no-show fees are payable within 5 days of the missed appointment.
  • Continued failure to pay these fees may result in the suspension of therapy services.

  • This policy is subject to review and may be amended at the Practice’s discretion. Clients will be notified of any changes.

8. Acknowledgement

  • Parents/ Guardians are required to agree to this cancellation and punctuality policy prior to starting therapy services.
