
Riverside SLT- Terms & Conditions
1. Definitions
- “Practice” refers to Riverside SLT
- “Therapist” refers to the speech and language therapist(s) employed or contracted by the Practice.
- “Client” refers to the individual receiving speech and language therapy services.
- “Guardian” refers to the parent or legal guardian of a Client who is a minor or lacks capacity.
- “Services” refers to the speech and language therapy assessments, interventions, and related services provided by the Practice.
- “Data Protection Legislation” refers to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Services Provided
- The Practice will provide speech and language therapy Services as agreed upon during the introductory call, assessment, and subsequent sessions.
- The Therapist will use their professional judgment to determine the most appropriate Services based on the Client’s needs.
- The Practice does not guarantee specific outcomes or results from the Services provided.
3. Appointments and Cancellations
- Appointments must be scheduled in advance.
- Clients or Guardians are required to provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments.
- Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation fee of 100% of the scheduled fee.
- Failure to arrive on time for appointments, may result in appointments of shorter duration with no associated reduction in fees.
- The Practice reserves the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to Therapist illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, the Practice will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative arrangements.
4. Fees and Payment
- Fees for Services will be provided to the Guardian in advance.
- Payment is due in advance of the scheduled appointment or at the time of service, depending on payment method.
- The Practice accepts exact cash or credit or debit cards (via Stripe).
- Late payments may incur additional charges.
- The practice reserves the right to cease services if payments are not made.
5. Confidentiality and Data Protection
- The Practice will maintain the confidentiality of all Client information in accordance with Data Protection Legislation.
- Client information will only be disclosed with the Client’s and/ or Guardian’s consent, except where required by law (e.g., safeguarding concerns).
- The Practice will process and store Client data securely and only for the purposes of providing Services.
- Clients and Guardians have the right to access, rectify, and erase their personal data, as outlined in the Practice’s Privacy Policy. Please note that medical/ health records cannot be deleted for medico-legal reasons.
- The practice has a data protection and privacy policy that will be provided on request.
6. Safeguarding
- The Practice adheres to Irish safeguarding guidelines and procedures.
- Therapists are obligated to report any concerns about child or vulnerable adult safety to the relevant authorities.
7. Liability
- The Practice will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing Services.
- The Practice’s liability for any loss or damage arising from the provision of Services is limited to the fees paid by the Client or Guardian.
- The practice is insured with a professional indemnity insurance policy.
- The Client and/ or Guardian agrees to disclose all relevant medical information.
8. Client/Guardian Responsibilities
- Guardians are responsible for providing accurate and complete information to the Therapist.
- Clients and/ or Guardians are expected to actively participate in the therapy process and follow the agreed therapy plan and recommendations.
- Guardians are responsible for ensuring a safe and suitable environment for therapy sessions.
- Guardians are responsible for safely accompanying the Client into and out of the clinic and ensuring the Client is supervised and safe when leaving the car parking area.
- Guardians must remain on the premises for the duration of all appointments.
9. Complaints Procedure
- Feedback is welcomed by the Practice.
- Clients and/ or Guardians are encouraged to discuss any complaints in person as soon as possible. Alternatively, clients and/ or guardians are encouraged to email the Therapist to arrange a phone call to discuss complaints.
- Clients and/ or Guardians may also submit formal complaints in writing to Eibhlin Gorman at eibhlin@riversideslt.ie .
- The Practice will investigate formal complaints promptly and provide a written response within 21 working days.
- Clients or Guardians have the right to make a complaint about any Therapist’s fitness to practice by contacting CORU. Further information about this procedure can be found at www.coru.ie . CORU can be contacted at ftp@coru.ie or 01 293 3160.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland.
- Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
11. Amendments
- The Practice reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
- Clients or Guardians will be notified of any changes in writing.
12. Force Majeure
- Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these terms and conditions if such failure or delay is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
13. Severability
- If any provision of these terms and conditions is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
